Album Notes
Bobby Floyd and Dave Powers! Two legendary keyboardists burn it up on this live recording from June 13, 2010 at Dave Powers' house in Columbus, Ohio. With the incomparable Bobby Floyd on Hammond B3 organ, Dave Powers on piano and Louis Tsamous on drums, this trio recording packs a lot of energy and inspiration! Dave and Bobby switch keyboards on "Old Folks," marking Powers' "official" recording debut on the B3.
In 2009, The House Jazz Concert Series was co-created by Dave Powers and Annette Franks to bring people together for good jazz music and good times in the style of the old-time 'rent parties' of the 1920's through the 1950's. There are somewhere between 40 to 85 people who come to Dave's house in Columbus, OH to listen, participate, network and fellowship.
The bi-monthly series centers around the Dave Powers Trio plus a special guest from time to time. These energetic performances are all recorded live in front of enthusiastic audiences.
