HRstrut

Feels Like Flight
A recent MySpace discovery, HRstrut (from Houston, Tx), play contemporary guitar pop and rock, with nods aplenty to some great bands - to name a few: REM, Television Lemonheads, Replacements and The Other Kids. They’re proper rock ’n’ rollers, good and ballsy, a little loose round the edges, but never straying too far from a killer chorus or a head turning guitar hook. Highlights are numerous. The opening salvo of “We’ll Fly To Venus”, “Love A Wild Thing” and “Man From Alpha-201” set the tone perfectly. Strong lyrics well sung, and a band of musicians well versed in classic ‘left of the dial’ American indie, and just as importantly, fully aware of the importance of subtlety. Grab a copy if you can.
