ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Born in England to British Caribbean parents, Reuben McCalla evolved as a singer/songwriter THEOUTCOME, defined as “Life Is What You Make It”.

With solid Rastafarian guidance and a strong introduction to Reggae and Dancehall through his Father’s self-owned “Innovation Sound System” THEOUTCOME started learning the business in his youthful years. His first visit to Jamaica at the age of 9 made him want to become a musician because he saw them as such powerful people. Then at 13 years old nothing seemed too difficult for the challenge after he read the Autobiography of Malcolm X and listened to great albums such as “Black Heart Man” by Bunny Wailer.

The upsurge in dancehall of the early 90s encouraged this British artist to start crafting his own styles and patterns into a well-structured array of thought provoking lyrics. He spent most weekends in the local record shops waiting for the latest “riddims” to come from Jamaica so he could freestyle on them and would regularly perform at local parties in the UK.

2009 was his most challenging time due to the murder of his beloved Father in England and he decided that such obstacles must build the strength of his character so THEOUTCOME started working harder on his career in music.

His skills as a record producer developed from the need to create original music for his own expressions and in 2012 he wrote and produced songs under the alias “Chuky” for reggae legend George Nooks “Happy Feeling” and for Platinum selling artist Gyptian “Burning From The Heart”, which made it to the A LIST on Uk Radio station Choice FM and got heavy rotation on radio stations across Jamaica. He also released singles and music videos such as “Make a Change” featuring Whisky.

Now in 2014 with a new name, vision and mixtape entitled IAMTHEOUTCOME that features a variety of songs that he quotes "I have now found my sound" the genres he grew up on range from Pop, Trance, Hip Hop R&B, Reggae and Dancehall. So there is a fusion of these different influences in his songs.

The first single and music video available from the mixtape is “I Don’t Wanna” and this is being following by “Music Alphabet”, the song highlighting the contribution made by some of the veteran Dancehall and Reggae artists who have helped put Jamaica on the map. “Music Alphabet” take listeners back to the basics of the passion, skills and diversity in this culture.
