ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album was recorded at a difficult time in my life and it's main intention is that of healing. I wish for the listener to be carried away by the sounds of the classical guitar into the rich worlds painted by each of the composers compositions as a way to escape day to day struggles and to find peace there in. The most prominently featured composers on the album are myself and the great Spanish master Francisco Tarrega, whom I share the same birthday as. Since first studying the classical guitar I have always felt a deep connection to the music of Tarrega so I wanted his music to be strongly represented on this album. Most of the tracks are originally written for guitar and are not arrangements or transcriptions with the exception of Gymnopedie which was originally for Piano and Uskudara Gideriken which is a traditional Turkish melody that has been portrayed through various instrumentation throughout history. There are three quotes I feel should accompany this album and they are as follows:
"Art is never finished, only abandoned" - Leonardo da Vinci
"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become" - Carl Jung
" Try to realize it's all within yourself no one else can make you change" - George Harrison
