Album Notes
“With a jingle of tambourine we get a likely candidate for album of the year – simple as… Soaked in California sunshine one minute, then deep in the dustbowl the next, it’s like a greatest hits of everyone you like.” -Rudie Humphrey Americana UK

Ian McFeron’s music and songwriting have drawn comparisons to John Lennon, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, David Gray, and Ryan Adams among others. Weaving together a variety of popular styles, McFeron explores traditions ranging from electric-rock to gospel; from acoustic-pop to Americana , blues and swing.

McFeron established roots in his hometown after his debut was picked up by famed Seattle radio station KMTT 103.7 “The Mountain”. Listeners responded strongly, and subsequent releases garnered continued support from the station. McFeron went on to share the stage with international artists such as Patty Griffin, Sister Hazel, Shawn Mullins, Brandi Carlile, Mike Doughty, Amos Lee, and Hayes Carll.

Early success in Seattle drew McFeron into a full-time recording and touring career. He would spend the next decade performing throughout the United States, growing a national audience and attracting media attention stretching across the Atlantic.

A compulsive writer, McFeron followed up his debut album with seven LP’s in the next ten years. Currently, he tours in support of his 8th studio album, “Radio”, recorded in Nashville, TN with Grammy nominated Producer and Guitarist Doug Lancio.

Performers on Radio appear on records with Robert Plant, Nora Jones, Elton John, Ray LaMontagne, Steve Earle, Patty Griffin, John Hiatt, Buddy Miller, and Eli Young Band among others.

McFeron performs live with his Seattle-based folky-pop Americana band, which includes long time fiddler/cellist Alisa Milner as well as the soulful bass and drum duo, Moe Provencher and Aimee Zoe.

“McFeron’s music recalls classic, sweet-spot folk-rock ‘n’ roll favored by Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, Jackie Greene and Bob Dylan.” -Ben Salmon/The Bend Bulletin
