ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Magnetic is a music /environmental CD set in northern Canada and Alaska. It is the second of the music /environmental series - the first \"Over My head \" , the third \"Antarctica\" and the fourth CD \"Machine Works\" . This CD began in 1984 when I was asked to be an artistic observer on a scientific expedition to the Chukchi Sea - north of the Bering Strait , to study the feeding habits of gray whales and walrus. I got my diving license and worked with the scientists collecting samples . In off hours I collected many sounds from the north . Over the next five years , I continued these expeditions and chasing the north. The CD was released in 1990 and was nominated for Juno Award in the pop instrumental categorey the following year.
