Album Notes
A musical imagining of underwater vistas.

You are a creature in the world’s waters. What are you? A piranha ... a sunfish ... a dolphin? What’s pulsing through your headphones while you swim?

Aquanaria is the long-awaited music collection from the top composing team of all things underwater, Eddie Freeman and Marta Victoria. As Icarus Music, they are already well known for scoring films for National Geographic, PBS/Nature and Discovery Channel; as well as for painting exciting soundscapes for the Georgia Aquarium and the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. It is with pride that they now release their first soundscape cd.

“Water resonates with us so keenly that we wanted to dedicate an entire cd to the concept of all water as one living entity,” explains Eddie, whose haunting guitar licks and aching strings give the music it’s dreamy, organic feel.

“So we created these musical waterscapes to take your imagination for a swim,” adds Marta, whose percussion and melodies permeate the cd.

Aquanaria is the concept they came up with that, like Gaea, personifies all Earth’s water as one life force.

The cd’s aural interpretations capture liquid blue realms filled with life; like the furtive darting of Clownfish through coral, the mesmerizing undulation of an octopus across the sea floor, or the majestic rise of a blue whale leading her newborn to the surface for its first breath.

Aquanaria encourages imaginary journeys with its lush textures, exotic sounds and primal yearning. Rhythms ebb and flow, carrying one through the Amazon River to the Great Barrier Reef.

Close your eyes and let the music take you away...
Close your eyes and let the music take you away to Earth's final frontier...WATER!! No need for video, your mind's eye will more than fill in the blanks while guided most gracefully from North Pole to South Pole and points in between. Not only do Eddie and Marta perform with technical, musical, and production expertise, it is also evident they know their subjects. This is one you will want to listen to over and over again as the scenes in your mind's eye changes each time you play Aquanaria. I can't wait to where we will go next!

A marvelous journey!
This is just what I need to forget about my problems and find some inner peace from the daily stresses of life. The composition and technique are superb, and the reaction of the listener is one of awe and fascination. One of my children said this made them feel like they were underwater with whales and dolphins. Enough said. Buy it.
