Album Notes
I was born in California's Central Valley - "an orphan feral by way of Choctaw came" - a native son of the Oklahoma Dust Bowl. I went to high school in Bellevue, Washington and once sang a sweet a Capella 3-part harmony version of John Lennon’s "This Boy" with Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart. Their father, John, was my high school English teacher and the first person other than my mother to actively encourage my early songwriting efforts.

My musical influences include Roy Orbison, Etta James, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, John Lee Hooker, Elton John, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Keith Richards, Harry Nilsson, Eva Cassidy, kd lang, Bruce Cockburn, David Ackles, Terry Allen, and Irish great, Christy Moore (particularly his Black Album and the song, "Wave Up To The Shore).

Playing piano and singing at eight, I taught myself by ear to play Billy Joel and Elton John songs note for note and played piano in those styles as a session musician in Seattle. I was signed as a singer-songwriter at 19 by Jerry Denon, producer of the Kingsmen and "Louie, Louie", and recorded in legendary Kearny Barton’s Audio Recording Studio.

My LP of 12 original Feral Indie Rock songs, "These Mansions Made of Sky", was released October 1, 2017. It is a high-concept, majestic and monumental work of art that I consider my "Sergeant Pepper".

I am presently recording tracks at Raven Cries Recording Studio on Vashon Island, Washington for my next LP: "Father of Stones, Mother of Cries".

I hold music as the highest possible expression of truth, beauty and harmony and feel blessed to be able to pursue my musical vision with unremitting passion and complete freedom.

Ike Harmon - These Mansions Made of Sky
Rock it, baby!! Lots of vibe, beat, and soul-pinning voice and words by the amazing Ike and musical collaborators of great talent! All tracks so different - some hear Bruce, some Dion... I poured over the credits to see who did what. Completely enjoyed this music and lucky enough to get to see a riveting video with island aerial scenery and our neighbors "Into the Infinite"! Put the CD on and you're at the party wherever you may be!

A Genuine Artistic Triumph
Seeing the Peter Ray filmed videos for each of the 12 songs just got better and better and then WOW and MORE WOW!!..... musically and visually and I was transported to another place of feeling and experiencing! Ike Harmon writes great songs and his voice is like none I have ever heard before; an instrument with huge range and throughout this range, his tone is of richest amber, brilliant brass and silky velvet delivered with dead on intonation, perfect pulse and all delivered with great soul! If you had watched me you would have seen tears running down my face several times! The entire Mansions project, both musically and visually, is a genuine artistic triumph!
