ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Imani Kairee[Pronunced kye-ree]

"Respect Me, Respect Yourself, And We'll Get Along Fine" says the teen year Hip-Hop artist referring to anyone she comes in contact with throughout life. Her idols are God, her mother, Kanye West and other notable artists involved through out the musical genre.
Imani Kairee, who was born on December 16, 1989, is a native of Ansonia, Connecticut. She is a young and fresh upcoming artist/writer of this era. "Her style of music is very ecletic." Says Bonnie Silva who is the mother of the young teen. "It's a crossover between Hip-Hop, Pop and Dance. The style is very marketable throughout America as well as the UK"! Referring to the infamous "4 On The Floor" drum grooves Imani incorperates into her music. A majority of her style is all about life seen thru this young lady's eyes in all aspects. Everything she writes is influenced by what she feels, or how something affected someone she knows when she takes on the situation as an act of kindness. Her lyrical content breaks down all racial barriers and is like poetry mixed with a little fun to lighten things up. "My Mom played a very vital role in maintaining my career". Adds the very excited 19 year old. "If she didn't like it.............I'd crumble the page and put it in the trash! I had to make sure she liked it"!

Imani's first performance was at the age of just 5 years old where she appeared on stage singing and dancing. When Imani's mom discovered her daughter was gifted, she made sure Imani participated in local talent shows throughout Elementry School . "Parents often approached me to express how talented they thought my daughter was. I just knew she was a star"! Says the mother of the energetic teen.

As life continued, Imani Kairee began to embrace music more & more. After every sunset and rise of the moon she would express her creative interest for music. At the age of 11, her mother would hear her rhyming to music behind closed doors. Her mother, not wanting to push her in any specific direction in regards to her own career ambitions, just observed her musical development from afar. "She always walked around with her rhyme book and a pair of headphones on! I'm surprised she's not deaf"!!! Outbursts the mom referring to her loving daughter. Her mother eventually approached her with the idea with pursuing a musical career, and she bit like a mosquito. There she began to develop the neccessary attributes to succeed in this business.

A few years later, in March 2005, Imani Kairee decided to enter a local talent show. To her surprise, the audience loved the music and asked if she was going to make a CD. Encouraged by friends and family, she decided she wanted to head to a recording studio to begin working on an album to represent young Connecticut.

Jeff Baldwin, CEO of Mega Bass Productions referred her mother to Smoke House Studios which is based in Bridgport CT. Imani Kairee's professionalism and talent blew Steve Isaac, who is the owner and In-House Producer, away. Steve, also known as Smoke, was impressed by her organizational style and ability to lay down her tracks in one take. He often commented on how Imani was the perfect role model type that today's youth would need.

While working on her music, Imani was interviewed on the Inner City Groove featuring DJ EZ Mike (88.5 FM a local college station in Fairfield ,CT) who really liked her sound. DJ EZ Mike expressed that he was so impressed that he offered Imani Kairee a chance to co-host his show. He gave her the chance to play her new tracks which turned out to be a really good outlet for her music to gain exposure. She has interviewed Jive recording artist’s such as Chris Brown, (Rapper) Dirt Bag, and Rasheeda, who appears on The Beauty Shop movie soundtrack. Rasheeda as gave her advice on how to pursue her musical career. She took the advice the two successful women gave and ran with it. "I will never quit! Quitting will be like me getting thrown into a desert without water. I wouldn't be able to survive". Says Imani. She is now currently working on new material that is set to be released for sale in 2009. Imani is writing until she falls asleep with the pen in her hand at night.
In the sum of things, she is talented, dedicated, and motivated to succeed in this business and nothing is going to stop her. Her Swahili name translates into the American word "Faith" and she wears it well!!!

-Frank Portalatin(C&C Music Factory)
-Bryant Price(Producer of "Time To Get On")
