Young Masetto has just found himself on the losing end of a jealous brawl with Don Giovanni over Masetto’s fiancé, Zerlina. “Vedrai, carino” is Zerlina’s song of comfort to her wounded sweetheart.

"Amarilli, mia bella"
- Amarilli, mia bella is a 15th-century madrigal about the complexities of love.

"Ave Maria"
- Ave Maria, or “Hail Mary” is a traditional prayer from the Catholic liturgy.

"Ach, ich fuhls", from Mozart's Die Zauberflote (The Magic Flute)
- Die Zauberflote (The Magic Flute) is set in mythological ancient Egypt. Princess Pamina has been kidnapped by the god of the underworld, Sarasto. Pamina’s love interest, Tamino has agreed to face a series of Sarasto’s challenges in exchange for releasing Pamina. One of those challenges is a vow of silence- Pamina is unaware of this arrangement, so when Tamino refuses to speak to her in order to win the challenge, she doesn’t understand, and is heartbroken. “Ach, ich fuhls” is Pamina’s lament at losing the love of Tamino forever, and how she longs for death.
