Insanax

by Insane Insan

The band INSANE INSAN have taken the term eclecticism to a whole new level. With their debut album INSANAX, the five band members, who have their roots in Germany, Turkey, France and Bosnia, playfully and elegantly adapt a wide variety of styles like New Wave, Soul, Reggae, Hip Hop and Electro into a fresh new version of Pop music. Sung mostly in the Turkish, German and French languages, these Insane Beings bring a lightness and laissez-faire attitude to music, which brings joy, melody, humour and laughter to the listener.

Text about the first video published:
The Insanity has officially kicked off and INSANE INSANE (Insane Human Beings) have just cut the first single (RAHAT) from their long-awaited debut album INSANAX. The video to the track RAHAT with its hauntingly cinematic melody lines brought to you in the official INSANE INSAN languages, Turkish and French, pays homage to the French movies of the 60s and let's you wallow in the times in which love was definitely not a monogamous „affair“ at all. The chorus of the song bears witness to this: „Let time to its flow, just let it go, let it flow so that we can comfily and cozily (rahat, rahat) indulge in our love.“
THE INSANITY OF THE INSAN – INSANE INSAN

What happens when five like-minded individuals, who have been working as musicians, writers, composers and performers for many decades and who come from different cultural, linguistic and musical backgrounds meet in the heart of Europe, in the capital of a small country and join forces to start making music together. Well, it has definitely turned out to be an Insane endeavor with five Insanely creative and industrious Insans (Turkish, Arabic for human beings) who deserve the accolade of INSANE INSAN. How could you otherwise explain that in the period of some 4 months a whole album with 11 tracks is recorded in five different languages and two videos have been shot in Sarajevo (at 5 different locations) and Berlin, and are ready to go online. Who could have thought that such a multi-lingual project with such a vast array of musical genres from pop, rock, electro and new wave to reggae, hip hop, Turkish soul and French cinematic sound, could have originated from Sarajevo.
Well, firstly because two of the members - Tayfun, a German-Turk and Thomas a Frenchman - made a conscious decision to come and live in Sarajevo since they were fed up with their mundane, stressful lives in Germany and France respectively, and made a move to indulge in an alternative, dynamic and Insanely rahat (easy-going) lifestyle and pace in Bosnia. And secondly because the other members (Enes Zlatar “Bure”, Dusan Vranic “Duco” and Dragan Rokvic “Rokva”) were Insane enough to offer these two a professional studio, their services as highly-skilled musicians/composers/producers, their contacts and other commodities and conveniences of the Bosnian music scene, only to have their musical ideas spoilt by Turkish, German and French singing and rapping ☺
Long story short, the debut album is about to see daylight and the band is currently arranging and practising the music for the live gigs, which will hopefully kick off some time in spring next year. The track “Married Man” will be remixed by French DJ/producer/musician and globetrotter DJ Click and will be included in the bands album as a bonus track as well as dance compilations worldwide.
And since most people out there might not understand what Insanities this band is singing about, let us give you a quick outline of the topics in the songs. Somehow it seems that the midlife crisis, which most of the band members seem to be enjoying, is the anathema of the album. Whether the band sings about the sufferings of a “Married Man”, who is tempted by what he sees in a visit to a club with his French mate and worries about the reaction of his wife, or about the indulgence of a Sunday morning waking up next to his French lover and letting the day pass without any worries and in a very “Rahat” (comfy, relaxed) fashion, the lyrics have a certain lightness to themselves. On the other hand, the band is definitely not afraid to uncover the Insanity of the contemporary Insan (human), who, like the band members themselves, do not seem to fully grasp “where we (as human beings) stand in the evolution from Hayvan (animal) to Insan”. (track Insane Insan)
