Album Notes
With 'The Transatlantic', Intrada Brass of Oakville presents its most musically ambitious recording project with music by Canadian, American and British composers and arrangers, hence the CD's title. The CD also features an international roster of brass soloists. From Canada: Alastair Kay, trombone and Robert Miller, euphonium. From the U.K.: Russell Gray, cornet and Melvyn Bathgate, alto horn. When it was released in 2003 several tracks were immediately broadcast on CBC Radio Two. This is music for the brass band connoisseur. For young brass players, it is a master class in the art.
