Album Notes
Irwin Shur was born in the suburbs of New York City, in a musical family. His father was a Julliard-trained singer. Irwin started performing in public when he was five, and has performed both as a solo artist and in bands throughout the United States. He plays a wide variety of instruments, including guitars, keyboards, drums, bass and percussion.

Higher Ground is his first album, featuring an eclectic mix of rock and acoustic rock, with a few sonic surprises. Versatile guitar work abounds, along with guest appearances by Joe Kasko and Rick Powell on drums and bass, respectively.

Irwin's lyrics run the gamut from wry political observations, to character descriptions (or is that descriptions of characters?), to haunting introspections, to love songs.

Go ahead and take the journey.

Love the CD
Great CD. Great mix of several types of songs. I play it all the time and tell my friends about it.
