ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Isaac Evans\' Biography

Isaac Evans has always had a love for music. He grew up in a musical family in San Jose, California. Each of his four siblings played at least one instrument. He found his love for the piano in fourth grade. His piano teacher and parents continued to encourage his love for the piano. He continued to study the piano through high school.

It was around his senior year in high school that Isaac began to discover that he could write and arrange music. A friend that he met in high school taught him many rich chords. Later, his brother, some church friends and Isaac started a band called Orion Star. Isaac wrote several songs for the band.

While in college, Isaac began to hear many styles of music that further influenced his own style of playing and writing. He gained a deeper knowledge of chord structures, intricate harmony, and rich melodic themes. His musical experience began to grow.

In 1993, Isaac ventured out and completed his first musical recording called The Mix. This project contained a collection of songs that joined together rhythm, harmony, and melody.

Isaac continued to develop his songwriting and piano playing. He began collaborating with other musicians in the Bay Area. He also played for different vocalists and groups. His music listening introduced him to the musical influences of Joe Sample, Jeff Lorber and Russell Ferrante.

Eight years later, in 2001, Isaac began writing several songs that are featured on his new release My Journey. He joined the Local 47 in Los Angeles, California. There he met several musicians who helped him complete the recording of this project. The smooth jazz sounds of this musical collaboration paint a real life picture of an adventurous journey to a higher place.
