Album Notes
"Take Me Away" is essentially about losing a child, taking the listener through the emotions of loss and grief, but with an epic swell of hope. The song contains themes of heartache, confusion and thoughts of what could have been.
The song originated in a scene of The Makabra Ensemble live silent film soundtrack project's performance of the classic film The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and was written by Sonja for a very special creature by a childless mother.

'Isobel' is an alternative acoustic / dark folk / neo folk project with a gothic edge, consisting of Terminatryx and Makabra Ensemble vocalist Sonja Ruppersberg, and author / guitar player Nerine Dorman.
Originally titled 'A Murder', the duo wanted to explore musical realms they haven't tread before.

(Additional musicians include Matthijs Van Dijk on violin and Paul Blom on bass guitar)

Live performances have included an Ingrid Jonker poetry evening (legendary South African poet) and a special Nirvana cover session before the screening of documentary Soaked In Bleach at the Sound On Screen Music Film Festival, the Blues Sessions event at Mercury Live, and the ALTERnatives music festival.

The debut album release (produced by Paul Blom) was set for a late-December 2018 release, but has been moved to early-2019, with several single releases leading up to it across November 2018 to January 2019.

The first single of the Isobel debut album is Take Me Away, to be followed by Those Who Return.
Stunning music videos are completed for these songs and will be launched along with the tracks.
More are set to follow.
