Thoroughly an Artist
Jane Siberry is a little temple bell of brilliance.
Listening to her music will altar your moods and make your spirit dip and soar.

Release The Superhero Inside!
Many talk the talk, few walk the walk. Issa with ‘Dragon Dreams’ rips up the rule book and makes a quantum leap into a new artistic reality. And she didn’t ask for or need anyone’s permission to do so!

Nurtured and crafted these past few years after the canon of Jane Siberry was respectfully retired, this song cycle has everything. It’s a delightful aural carnival of melodic poetry, harmony and surprisingly ‘out there’ beats which could raise the roof at a party.

‘Songs about love, nature and social change’ which inspire us towards a change of heart and mind so our hopes of saving the natural environment or finding lasting peace in relationships may be realised. A refreshing waterfall of optimism.

My current fave is ‘Send Me Someone To Love’. A song so beautiful you just know k.d, rufus and Anthony Hegarty will be singing it in the shower within days. And so will you, perhaps.

Highs? Lows? Remember the first time you went on a roller coaster as a child at the seaside. It‘s a bit like that. But much more. And all good. Load up the truck with this solid gold disc and gift it to every child you love: Whatever their age. Play it straight or hit the shuffle button. Either way: It’s a head trip. A body workout. A soul journey. Release the superhero inside!

A Triumph of Humor and Humanity
The artist formerly known as Jane Siberry is back after too long an absence from recording with a warm, humble, and truthful collection of songs. Issa has been workshopping many of these songs in her lives shows over the years and has committed the final versions to record. The result contains some heartfelt reflections on being human and negotiating one's way through the world with humor and hope. Issa has always had a wicked sense of humor and it shines more than ever on the new recording. It is more joyful, playful, and grooving than any of her (Jane) previous offerings. Clearly Issa was a rebirth not only in name but in identity and sound. It is a perfect recording for these troubled economic times. I think my favorite track is the very timely "You Never Know" which touts, in a fresh and funky way, the value of treating everyone well, as you never who you are talking to and what their history is-the moral to value everyone. Prepare to be alternately chuckling and moved as Issa ebbs between humourous cautionary tales ("You Had A Good Thing") and heartfelt meditations on life and prayers for the future ("Send Me Someone To Love" and "When We Are Queen.") It is good to hear Issa recording and since this is first in a trilogy we can only hope for more openheartedness from our favorite Canadian chanteuse! BRAVO ISSA!

Dragon Dreams
As a loyal and loving fan of Jane Siberry, I Love this CD. As I hear it, it is beautifully Jane (ISSA). With her lovely voice, and refreshing ideas of how the world should be, or is becoming. I feel with this CD (as with all her others) she is calling us to become that - what the world should be. It is right along my thoughts and discovery right now about creating your reality as you wish it to be. This is a very upbeat tempo album - more major than minor, I enjoy a more minor, deeper melancholy sound that is characteristic of her "When I was a Boy" CD. Thus, not a 5 star rating for me. The words are outstanding, and I love her voice and careful way of expressing the words. It is, as she is - a joy.

The Stars Line Up
"Dragon Dreams" is a work of true imaginative transformation from one of our most musically brave and humane artists. Issa's voice is stronger than ever, while her melodies invite the listener in to dream, heal and dance. Issa is one of those musicians who has consistently gone out on a limb of exploration and independence to create works so far from being formulaic as to create a new genre. Like many an innovator she may not be given the appreciation she is due in our time, but her artistry has a resilience and generosity of spirit which is sure to triumph. This cd is a gift to the earth.

dream of light
I already have this CD. I recieved it as a gift from a friend - second hand. But I just want to buy it again and again and give it to people I love and appreciate. What a CD. You had a good thing and you blew it ! Issa really takes the edge of everything with this masterpiece. It's just such a groovy piece and my favorites are changing with the light of the day. The best thing is: the feeling of it all as a great bonus. A gift Issa gives to us all from a endless creative well. This is just one of the best CD's I've heard and owned for ages. And such lightness. I feel blessed. Thank you Issa !

This is an incredibly wonderful CD. Issa (formerly Jane Siberry of "Calling All Angels" and "Mimi on the Beach" fame) is my superhero. She's a fearless artist who literally follows her own muse, no matter what anyone thinks. It's appropriate that my iTunes catagorizes the music's genre as unclassifiable. The most accessible songs are "Even as We Fall From Grace," "You Never Know," "When We Are Queen," and "Send Me Someone to Love." The entire album is a gem. Thank you Issa!

I believe this new album has come full circle for Jane - wooops Issa. After listening to this offering, repeatedly, I have decided to *open* the minds of my children - in a musical sense - this summer. I have hung an ancient poster of Jane at the cottage and gathered the well-loved "Mimi on the Beach" towels and I will begin the indoctrination of my kids. The music is quite approachable; sharing it with my children at the cottage this summer, will be a wonderful experience.

Celestial Travelogue
The Love Train has a new conductor. Issa has arrived, right on time. Upon first listening to DRAGON DREAMS, I have to admit I was a tad perplexed. I had waited so long for new music from Ms. Jane, that this album seemed to be over too fast. Too little meat on the bones. A trifle. But, O no, High-Priestess Issa has upped the ante. Ms. Siberry has long been one of the most literate and tactile of songstresses, and the place that she has arrived at on her own journey, Issa,is a stunning place. We should all be so fortunate to pass through this terrain at some point in our time on this compendium of earthly life. Its as though your best friend tells you all about this amazing trip they just took. I want to call the travel agent TODAY! It is a trek at once intimate (paddling through the underbrush at daybreak) and celestial {I can swear I heard Issa jumping from cloud to cloud). Song after song took me to another oasis on this journey. It is at once personal and universal, which I venture is what the greatest art endeavors to be. Yes, to paraphrase, you never know who you're listening to. Who hasn't felt all the irony of "I Pick Up the Phone", and the life lesson of "You Never Know". If I could I would answer her prayer in "Send Me Someone To Love, as she pleads with us to aid in her search for finding that elusive thing - love, a real love, a true love. Line for line, this is the sister song to Siberry's classic "Calling All Angels". This song may contain the line of the year, "Someone who won't mind a menage-a-trois, YOU and ME and GOD." That is a love worth waiting for.
So, come on, people all over the world, and join hands for this 21ST Century Love Train that is chugging across the universe. I will gladly sit and wait to see where she decides to take us next. Merci me amour
