ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Music is meant to be shared.

The ability to collaborate and communicate with others is at the core of music itself. While five trombones alone are glorious (...in our humble opinion), we wanted this project to include some very dear friends and colleagues. Whether it's the unmistakable arranging style of David Robbins, the fine music-making of our musical guests or the artwork of Mark McGregor – it was essential to share all of this with you. Enjoy!

The title of the project, The Bad and the Beautiful, is more than just a sonorous ballad for us. As trombonists striving to be at the centre of attention, we are often initially miscast as musical misfits – bulls in a china shop as it were. And while trombones can indeed put more than just a little zip into any forte, it doesn't always have to be the mission objective. The Bad and the Beautiful tries to reflect this dual personality of crude crescendo crusader and melodious Meistersinger.
