Album Notes
Mark Iwaniak is a guitarist of many parts, impressions and instrumental moods. While acknowledging that somewhere inside him there is a screaming electric guitar racing like a cheetah on the Serengeti, Mark is also a player of deep sensitivity who can compose and play a blues or acoustic ballad with the touch and expression of a guitar master.

This is Mark’s first solo CD project after years of rock and country groups, New York City and Nashville show bands, Top 40 Rock Bands and tours throughout the USA, Canada and Asia (including Tokyo Japan and Beijing China) and over a hundred studio recorded demos, jingles and albums. This respected sideman has finally taken center stage with his first album “Lost Lonely Rider” an impressive mix of 10 instrumental songs and 3 vocal arrangements all written, played and produced by Mark Iwaniak. The variety of song styles and tasteful guitar tones clearly show Mark’s wide-ranging experience, and demonstrates moods of Santana, guitar harmonies of the Allman Brothers and gentle nuances of Dire Straits Mark Knopfler. The sounds and styles of the songs on this CD vary but the melodic phrasing takes a front seat throughout.

“Cow Town” Infectious melody, great arrangement of instruments and guitar drives for such a mellow piece.
“Crow Dance” Stirring, haunting and beautiful. This song carries your spirit across the badlands.
“Has the World Gone Mad” This one hits home on some big problems in today’s world. The lyrics are hard-hitting; the harsh guitar contributes to the madness. Mike Wooten does a good job singing lead vocals.
“Reflection” Soothing harmony exhibits Mark’s remarkable ability to make instrument arrangements interesting. This is great music!
“Lost Lonely Rider” Great classic rock guitar playing and Mike Wooten’s dynamic vocal motivate a good ride.
“Guitar Wood” Interesting and compelling throughout. The song takes you back home.
“Spanish Nocturne” Western without being “Country”. This song is a treasure.
“Never Been to New Orleans” Again, this one hits home with the lyrics, the guitar interplay and lovely harmonies.
“Buffalo Blues” Catchy, engaging.

Recently, some of Mark’s compositions, including three songs from this CD “Lost Lonely Rider” and many songs from his other cd's, have been featured on the Sunday evening Yellowstone Public Radio (KEMC-FM 97.1 Billings) program called Montana Music Show. His song, Buffalo Blues from his “Lost Lonely Rider” CD, was featured on YPR’s Blue Light Boogie with Art Hooker program, which highlights world famous blues artists. Locals up early enough to catch “Marcy in the Morning” on Glendive Broadcasting’s KDXN FM 96.5 channel will generally get a taste of his talent. His guitar playing and producing talent were featured in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Miss Montana Pageant and the song "My Dancing Theresa" on "Electric Revolution" cd was the song selection for the swimsuit walk portion of the show.

“Mark Iwaniak is a guitar player who currently lives in Glendive Montana, but has lived and performed throughout the United States. He releases mostly instrumental albums covering many genres of music. The talented Iwaniak plays all the instruments in a broad range of styles, engineers and sings vocals on the mainly instrumental albums”. Scott Prinzing… Director of Education MusEco Media and Education Project, Billings MT and host of Yellowstone Public Radio (KEMC-FM 91.7 Billings) program called Montana Music Show.

You get to the point and create a mood to follow
I really like that you work with a melody, keep it simple at first then turn it around and really take it to another level. I was blown away with your lyrics on Has the world Gone Mad. I think you should remake this cut and clean it up. It would be a national treasure in the right hands.

Very enjoyable music and guitar playing
We bought this CD while seeing you play at 4 Bears Casino last year and were very impressed with the songs and style you have on the CD. We bought another one of the CDs before we left and throughly enjoy listening to your music. The song Crow Dance touches a place in my heart.

Mark Iwaniak is not only a great technical guitarist, he is also a gifted artist who has the ability to transfer the feelings in his soul into his music. That is exactly what he has done with his first CD, Lost Lonely Rider.

Impressive, original music
When listening to this CD, is obvious that you can play the guitar but the big surprise is the originality and creativity in the material your doing. Very good work.
