JACCO VELARDE - BIO

Jacco Velarde, originally from La Paz, Bolivia South America, researcher Ethnic-musician, composer, recording artist and audio engineer. He has performed, recorded and toured internationally throughout Latin America, Canada, USA and Europe, Performed with major Bolivian Andean bands such as, Ernesto Cavour, Alfredo Dominguez, Zulma Yugar, Cesar Junaro, Los Trovadores de Bolivia, Los Puma Punku and many others, including performances with internationally renowned Bolivian band Rumillajta. He is also founder of the Bolivian National Ballet.
Jacco Velarde moved to Dallas in 1979, and founded Vision Andina in 1985,
Since then, he has been actively involved in educational programs for elementary schools trough Young Audiences of North Texas and the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs. And former artistic director of " UT Andean Ensemble" at University of Texas at Austin.
