Album Notes

Jacki DePiro

Having performed twice by Presidential invitation at the White House including a command performance for the President, Jacki is a truly accomplished and amazing vocalist. She is leaving audiences everywhere spell-bound...
Jacki was raised in NY and Chicago, now calling the Los Angeles area home. This truly accomplished and amazing vocalist is leaving audiences spell-bound with her new show introducing her latest CD and first Solo artist Jazz CD "Where I Hang My Hat Is Home". The smooth, pocket-grooves combine old-world class and swing with some classic Latin and "Motown" type grooves to add to the mix. Her brother, Jazz Pianist and composer Rick DePiro, wrote three new songs for Jacki on this CD including the title cut. Jacki gives the best of what Norah Jones, Diana Krall, Shirley Horn and Diane Reeves all offer yet adding far more power to the mix than any of these great vocalists. Her recent NYC CD release concert received rave reviews giving us a taste of what next year has in store for this wonderful artist. She credits her education (including her acceptance at the Julliard School in NY) and her extensive studio and road experience for giving her a "seasoned" sound well beyond her years.

This album is wonderful from the beginning to the end. Jacki DePiro is a dynamic, soulful vocalist. She is superbly backed by her brother pianist Rick DePiro who also wrote three excellent songs.
