Album Notes
"Jackie Messina breezes her way through thirteen songbook gems with sexy panache and a wink in her eye. Her tasteful re-imaginings of the melodies we know and love are both logical and magical. Backed by a stellar ensemble, Jackie swings lightly inside smart arrangements that perfectly highlight each story as well as her lovely voice." Amy London

Sultry and Substantial
I was pleasantly surprised with Jackie Messina's debut CD as jazz vocalists are not my passion. But passion is what is evident in her original arrangements that manage to rework many standards while retaining their authentic spirit. Love, lost and found, is a common theme in many of the songs and Messina is able to mix intelligence with sensuality. Her lovely voice is able to convey a range of emotional tones and an apparently wide range of life experiences.
