Album Notes
This recording is the follow-up project to extraordinary drummer/composer Jack Mouse's previous release "Range Of Motion," which received rave media reviews, and spent five weeks on the Jazz Week Top 50 chart and nine weeks on the CMJ Top 40 chart. Accompanied by his brilliant longtime cohorts - tenor saxophonist Scott Robinson, Art Davis on trumpet and flugelhorn, guitarist John McLean and bassist Bob Bowman - the quintet presents nine of Mouse's original compositions that display their command of all forms of post bop era jazz, along with a delightful taste of 50s-style swing and a compelling gospel piece.

Mouse is well known for his work with such artists as The Janice Borla Group, The Dan Haerle Trio, The Bunny Green Quartet, The Jack Reilly Trio, Clark Terry, Joe Williams, Stan Kenton, Herb Ellis, CarL Fontana, James Moody, Randy Brecker, Frank Wess, Kai Winding, Kenny Burrell, Red Norvo, Sheila Jordan, Rufus Reid, Buddy Childers, Johnny Smith, Peanuts Hucko, the United States Air Force Academy Falconaires, and many others.

More recently, he has been involved with free improvisation projects: the duo project "Snakeheads & Ladybugs" (Tall Grass Records - TG8282) with multi-instrumentalist Scott Robinson; and the trio project "Three Story Sandbox" (Tall Grass Records - TG8283) with Robinson and Jack's wife, jazz vocalist Janice Borla, which was selected as a DownBeat Editors Pick.

Currently, he serves as Associate Professor of Music & Coordinator of Jazz Studies at North Central College, and is an
Artist/Clinician for Yamaha Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Aquarian Drum Heads and Vic Firth Drum Heads.

Jack and Janice are also co-founders of the non-profit organization Flashpoint Creative Arts, whose mission is to promote improvisation as an essential life-skill.
