ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Neon Hype Records is proud to be re-releasing a collection of songs recorded by singer/songwriter Jack Norton, while still in high school.

"Old Songs: The Arts High School Sessions" includes tracks from Norton's "dixieland bluegrass band" (The Mullet River Boys) and includes guest musicians from Leon Redbone and Tom Waits' bands. The album marks the re-release of several of Jack's home recordings that originally debuted on the legendary BBC Radio 1 show hosted by DJ John Peel.

The collection includes vintage jug band folk music, dixieland jazz, vaudeville punk and Americana influenced bluegrass.

Jack Norton is best known as co-creator and star of the children's band The Zinghoppers - a group with a TV show airing on over 100 PBS stations nationwide and in 175 countries to over a million viewers daily.
