All My Friends

by Jack O' the Clock

The third release by Bay-Area avant-folk quintet paints a stark contemporary American mythology, colored by the band's broad multi-instrumentalism alongside an expanded woodwind/brass section, guzheng, no-input mixer, corrugated pipes, and more.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jack O' The Clock "take us on a journey away from the three minute pop song to a nirvana of freeform yet relaxed musical
complexity" (Bluesbunny, Glasgow, Scotland). The group's sound, a jangly mix of concert-hall agility, acoustic rock drive, and junk shop scouring, has conjured comparisons to Sufjan Stevens, Henry Cow, Frank Zappa, and Philip Glass, and the lyrics, with a penchant for outsider narratives and involute imagery, to Joanna Newsom and Fables-era R.E.M. "There's an amazing amount of originality...and those looking for some intrepid, barrier-breaking music would do well to start here" (Peter Thelen, Expose).
