Album Notes
A powerful vocalist, Jack Reid got his start in church choirs in Easton, MD. After studying voice in college, and working as a folksinger in the Baltimore-DC area, he studied at Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore under Metropolitan Opera Baritone, Francesco Valentino. Drawn to its raw beauty, Jack spend a few years in the Colorado High Country working on a ranch. It is primarily from this experience that Promise draws its influence.

Mary Bradley is a lyric storyteller whose songs and poetry have been performed in various venues in the Pacific Northwest. Her themes are those small, key turning points in life that test and define us.

Both currently live in the Olympic Peninsula town of Port Townsend, WA., where they have collaborated on creating this CD. Several talented Port Townsend based musicians have joined with them in enhancing the authentic American feel of these songs. Those players are: George Rezendes, accoustic and electric guitar, bass, drums; Bill Wolfe, accoustic and electric guitar and pedal steel guitar; Raven, bass; Greg Vinson, bass; Brian "Buck" Ellard, fiddle; Mike Mullin, accoustic guitar.

New tunes from Jack and Mary, very much in the "Ian Tyson" tradition of cowboyin', lovin', losin' and making the whole darn thing mellow and easy to listen to. Jack's seasoned voice comes up prairie-large and smooth ... back-up features requisite steel guitar and some very tasty acoustic seasoning. If this was rodeo, Jack and Mary would bring home the buckle!

One thing I missed from the notes. I'd like to know who's playing?
