Wearing this one out
I'm not a jazz critic, but I have a pretty decent collection, all nicely displayed, alphabetized and organized. I can tell you that this CD doesn't spend much time there. You'll usually find it in the pile by the player. There's something compelling about it. Tyrone manages to be wonderfully inventive while honoring the shoulders he's standing on. He's surrounded himself with other great musicians and managed to work magic. The recording sounds like you're there. You gotta get this one!
