Album Notes
Karen Jacobsen is a passionate, inspiring and dynamic singer songwriter, transforming the world one song at a time.

Aussie born and New York based, Karen has shared the stage with Norah Jones, Christopher Cross, Jars of Clay, Three Dog Night, Deborah Cox, Cyndi Lauper and her songs have been heard on Dawson's Creek and NBC.

Her new, self-produced CD Kissing Someone Else is filled with upbeat, timeless piano-driven pop songs, and was released by Kurly Queen Records on January 24th, 2007 with a performance at Joe’s Pub in New York.

Whether she’s alone at the piano, with her six-piece band, or performing the national anthem in a stadium, Karen captivates the audience.

Her life is all about making a difference and doing it now. The music video for her new single Melting Moments was inspired by Karen’s recent experience in Africa performing for 250 children living in extreme poverty, and includes footage of that performance.

She proudly combines her charity work with her music, believing if we focus on our similarities instead of our differences, we will live in a world that works for everyone.

I love this CD!
Karen is wonderfully talented and a great storyteller. This CD is an evolution from her previous CD's and has several more up-tempo cuts than you'll find on Here in My Heart (also a mush have!). That said, I love a great balad and it has that too. I love it...in fact, I'm giving it to all my friends & family.

Her staggering and complex feelings ... rival the sadness and majesty of time go
It’s tough to be a singer/songwriter. These days, a lot of the major labels want to put their unmusical stamp on a performer…never letting them speak or sing on their own. There is a certain renegade spirit now days to just being heard. Such is the case with Karen Jacobsen. She has taken to task doing the majority of it all, all on her own. Her voice was made for Disney films or Broadway…that hasn’t happened just yet. Right now on her second CD, called Kissing Someone Else, she displays that spark and smarts of talent by creating a song called “Melting Moments.” This song is just one of many waiting to be heard. Her new CD isn’t available till January 24. Do remember the date. Karen Jacobsen has starlight lit up in optimism all around her.
With a voice that springs of eternal spirit, it must be said that her songwriting talent excels just as much. Her song, “The River of My Life” was made for a live performance on stage in New York. No fluff, no feathers…just good solid singing and songwriting. Karen’s tour de-force is the song on Kissing Someone Else called, “Leave Your Love Behind.” Her staggering and complex feelings on this song rival the sadness and majesty of time gone by. The emotions and lyrics are etched in realism and beautifully done. This song alone…is just one good reason to appreciate the intricate and true talent of Karen Jacobsen.

well crafted songs
The cd is good. A lot like all of her other cd's. But good none the less.
I think that the songs are much better on this cd as far as craftmanship goes.

leave your love behind is my favorite.

A nice addition to your collection if you like power pop music.
