ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jacob Tovar is a man from a different era, a different time. With a gentleman’s handshake, a booming voice, a contagious smile, and a quick wit, this Tulsa, OK performer effortlessly connects with all walks of life through his sincere songs of country, western, and old-fashioned honky tonk. He’s played with Junior Brown, Bill Kirchen, Wayne Hancock, David Amram, Chris Stapleton, and many other respected artists.

Born in Perry, OK, Jacob grew up on a farm, learning the lessons of a long, hard-worked day. His late brother, Josh, was his inspiration to pick up the guitar. His mother was also an influence, instilling an innate sense of melody through the long, lost art of whistling, which Jacob takes seriously. His transformation as a professional artist quickly took place upon his move to Tulsa, immersing himself in the deep talent pool of that fine city.

This full-length debut was recorded at Fellowship Hall Sound with Jason Weinheimer and features his all-star band The Saddle Tramps, comprised of Seth Lee Jones on slide guitar, Cooper Waugh on electric guitar, Paddy Ryan on drums / percussion, and Aaron Boehler on bass. Jacob handles lead vocal duties and plays acoustic guitar, while Tulsa musician Wink Burcham adds backing vocals, harmonica, and some guitar. Artwork and layout was handled by Thomas Self. Look for an upcoming show in your town. Until then, cheers from Tulsa!
