ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Singer/songwriter, Jacqueline Lorraine, of the Philadelphia area, just released her debut album, "Dream Catcher".

This 15-song c.d. is a must have for your folk collection.

It's a remarkable compilation of powerful songs, all gripping and distinctive.

There is a strong sense of familiarity in her music, as with all great songs.

Her combination of powerful, poetic and insightful, lyrics and catchy tunes, make up a very seductive and soul-gripping performer.

She's a master at bringing you within with her ability to paint with words.

Her music will make you feel as though you've just stepped into a "Monet", or a "Degas".

She sings from the soul and captures the heart.

Jacqueline's recipe for her sound can best be described as a Joni Mitchell style, with the poetic finesse of Jewel and a dash of Shania 'tude.

"Dream Catcher" is a story of Jacqueline's personal journey to her dreams, from despair to love.

"Dream Catcher" is not just a title, but, an invitation.

She offers listeners their own power back through conviction and choice.

Jacqueline does this creatively through her gifts of song and poetry.

She'll take you on a journey within, with beautiful ballads like "White Doves ", "December Blue" and "Harmony".

She offers hope and inspiration in the face of death in "My Angel".

She speaks of how illusionary despair can be in "Shadows On The Moon".

She warns us of loneliness when we burn our bridges in "Burning Bridge", and sings about transcendence and personal power in songs like "Recapture Your Dreams" and "Fight For Your Dreams".

She addresses the polarity of religion and spirituality in a "A Cross Untold", and reminds us all to honor the spirituality, or religions of others, as she sings, "I will remember your divinity; please, remember mine." Jacqueline shows her playful side in some of her blues and folk-rock, style songs like; "Sixth Sense", "Freght Train", "Move On", and "Cruel Hands".

All her songs have a positive message.

Even in her most, seemingly, negative song, "Cruel Hands", which addresses the issue of abuse, Jacqueline sings very powerfully that 'fate' will shape the cruel hands that she had to contend with.

She never speaks of violence or vengefulness as a solution.

She, instead, carefully examines the mind and motive of the abuser through powerful lyrics and song, and communicates that her active solution to even the most "Cruel Hands" of life, is to transcend the situation and allow the natural consequences to fall upon the abuser by calling forth her inner power through choice.

Jacqueline feels this is where our true power as individuals comes from, in the choices we make.

"Even in the most destitute situations, choice is always prevalent." There really is only one choice in the end, and that is love.

Every situation is a calling to love, our highest self.

The lessons seem to get harder and harder, when we choose from fear and reject love.

Ironically though, it seems that the hardest lessons in life lead us to the greatest love and this realization." Jacqueline stated that Victor Frankl, who wrote: Man's Search For Meaning, is exemplary of how choice can ultimately lead us out of the dark.

She speaks honestly and openly of her trials in life, and wants to offer to the community her sense of hope and power that she was able to find in a life that she had very little control over.

Her message is that dreams are obtainable, and essential to life as well.

This is where our life force lies, she says.

"The closer, you get to YOUR dreams, the closer you get to YOU and, ultimately, love".

"May the force be with you!" Jacqueline has struggled through a life of poverty, abuse and tragedy.

This turbulent journey has some how led her to call forth spirituality and strength.

From this, she has gotten in touch with her inner light through suffering and song.

She says she hopes to give hope to the suffering, spirituality to the grieving, and affirmations and accolades to those who are beginning journeys to their authentic selves.

Jacqueline would like to make a difference in as many lives as she can.

She is a gifted performer and offers a powerful and inspirational message to her listeners.
