Album Notes
About Jade Ell

Extracts and reviews :
Jade Ell shows a depth in her music from her years of study in North America and Europe. I love Jade's voice, she has a strong control of her music and carries a song with her soft, sultry voice. There are artists who can write and arrange a score, but can not master the balance that I heard from Jade as she shows off her vocals, lyrics and an understanding of blending instruments to accent her music"
By Edward F. Nesta, Luxury Web Magazine 2005

About "Ain't No Way Around It":
The duet and single is truly a masterpiece, really like it a lot.

"Mix girls like Anette Ducharme and Jann Arden with Rebecka St James and Shawn Colvin and we're quite ahead of Jade.Ell and it is actually really nice. Well produced nightpop for all you melodic musiclovers out there. I suggest you all to take a closer listen to this girl. Hope she can get a hit. Second out "Make Believe" is fantastic and beautiful. A BIG SURPRISE! "

"The debut from singer/songwriter Jade Ell, features her sweet contralto and personal, reflective songwriting."
Heather Phares, All Music Guide

"She exposes herself each time she steps on stage. The lyrics of her melodic tunes, whether they rock or roll, are reflections of her heart and soul". She is Jade Ell and she delivers an energy that will keep your feet tapping and your ears listening. Jade's wit and charm shine through her music. She can croon a ballad and her ability to belt a song defies her 5 foot 2 inch frame. Jade Ell is a prime example of the saying "big things come in small packages". She doesn't take herself too seriously. But you should"
By Kara Killen, DJ and radio personality in Florida US.
Music has always been a natural outlet for Jade. When you spend most of your childhood moving from place to place, it's amazing how a single object can become your one rock of stability, a piece of your home so to speak. For the young Jade, that rock of stability came in the form of an old black piano.

Above all Jade Ell is a true live artist, having played at many venues in Sweden, Holland, Germany and Denmark, as well as New York City's The Bitter End. Having played both large and small stages, Jade is easily able to show off her great singing and songwriting talents and a quality she possesses is the ability to keep a great presence of mind on stage. The Swedish Performing Right's Society has awarded Jade Ell for her work and her songs have been recorded by both international and upcoming artists. A few examples are: Sanne Salomonsen (DK), Margaret Berger (NOR), Pandora (SWE), Yuki (Japan), Natacha (CH), Rebeldes (Mexico) Simon Mathew (DK) among others.

Edel Records released her debut album, Promises and Prayers in countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, England and Scandinavia. Her first single ?"Got to Let You Go?" was appointed to "Record of the Week" by British music magazine Tip Sheet. It also reached #1 on Sweden's national radio P3 and #3 on Denmark's national radio P3, where she was nominated Best Newcomer on their Pop Shop Awards show. Jade co-wrote ?"Got To Let You Go?" with Jörgen Elofsson, who is now acclaimed for his popsongs for big international artists. Jade Ell sees herself as a story-teller more than anything else and if her first album, Promises and Prayers, focused more on her past - her new album ?"Methods (Of A Hostage Negotiator)?" is more about instant impressions she gets anytime, anywhere - but ultimately; what would you choose to say to someone who's keeping someone you know - hostage? Every move becomes very important - and anything could be misinterpreted...The words are put on a scale...

On "Methods" Jade worked alongside Mats Hedström, member of the 70's Swedish hitgroup Magnum Bonum and songwriter for such artists as Standfast, Trine Rein, Emilia, Sanne Salomonsen and Margaret Berger among others. His own personal favorites include Led Zeppelin and Black Crowes. Professionally, he will mix and match musical styles and genres, trying and create new sounds while avoiding getting caught up in any one genre. In all, Hedström has contributed to more than 20 albums and 50 singles, with worldwide sales of over 1.5 million units.

Working together, Mats and Jade have found a very inspiring way of writing songs. By building up a theme, to which Jade would sing whatever came to mind, it all resulted in takes that actually ended up being the final song. Later, Mats would change the entire background - so that Jade had actually been singing to something else. Jade has found this process a very exciting way to promote constant change and feels that it takes away the risk of getting used to a certain sound or style and allows more freedom in her songwriting.
