Album Notes
The Lotus and the Rose project was a most exciting and creative process for me. I chanted and meditated and came to the studio with a clear mind and an open heart. What you hear is a result of allowing tones to just come through my voice. My wish is for all beings who listen to be blessed with peace, joy, and fearlessness.
This CD was channeled specifically to be used for healing and meditation. It heals on a conscious and subconscious level, the tones penetrating and aligning your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual spheres. [Several parents of children with ADHD have reported amazing successes at bedtime playing this CD].
The Lotus And The Rose is for the purpose of allowing you to ride the healing resonate tones to the center of your being. Surrendering blocks and aligning chakras one by one as the tonal development carrys you across the bridge to a realm of peace, balancing your Yin and Yang.
The following is an exerpt from the liner notes from Dave Weber. This CD could not have happened without him:
"When Janiece approached me about this project I knew instinctively that it would be something extraordinary....I have known Janiece for many years and have worked with her closely on many projects. I have always loved her voice. She has a clear, pure, fluid tine that carries the unmistakable depth of her experience and passion for life. It is more than meditation music, it is the unfettered outflowing from the heart of a truly wonderful person, a singer, a healer, a great friend. This is the blossom that grew from a tiny seed. I feel fortunate to have been a part of it."

A CD that reaches places in you few others can
This CD has the potential to be as deep and rewarding as you need it to be. On the surface is it fantastic in its overall timbre and melody. However, the CD is vast. You can easily explore all of the various sounds happining, often for the first time...even after repeated listenings. Close your eyes; put headphones on; enjoy.

An ethereal, rewarding pause from Life's busy noise
"The Lotus & The Rose" isn’t just more excellent jazz from Janiece Jaffe, the accomplished Indianapolis vocalist. This sixth CD from the versatile Midwest singer ala reiki practitioner is a mesmerizing sound meditation. Her tracks begin simply, thicken gradually into greater aural texture, with haunting whale songs spinning into harmonic Buddhist chants, primitive flutish calls erupting into ethereal toning, and the final track evolving into a divine duet of AVE MARIA with harp and Janiece’s bell-like lyric soprano. "The Lotus & The Rose" offers a rewarding pause from Life’s busy noise. When I listen to this CD, I breathe more easily…freely…deeply...sample its lush Stillness.

The Lotus And The Rose
This is a wonderfully healing CD. I have been listening to it in my car, but bought it to use in my Healing Touch practice. I met Janeice at the Florida Nature & Culture Center in April where she did a workshop at a conference for Musicians, Vocalists, and Chorus groups. She is a fellow Buddhist and dynamic person who has a huge amount of compassion to share through her beautiful music and intonations.
