Jah Lex:
Born on the 7th of February 1982 in Montréal, Jah Lex as been fascinated by music as a child and some of his first inspiration were rock, pop, reggae, RnB and African music. Jah Lex organize his first music festival called “Tribal” when he was 16, as much as specialize himself in African percussions and electric guitar. Jah Lex first rise as a professional musician and music teacher from the age of 18. After working mainly as a musician, Jah Lex starts his singing career at age of 24 while sharing his life between Québec and Jamaica. Jah Lex form Montréal’s band “Raw Sugga” in 2005. Together they perform in many concerts and festivals like Montréal International Reggae Festival and were the opening band for International Artists touring Canada like “George Nooks”. Jah Lex also perform as solo Artist, tour coast to coast in Canada, been the main act or the opening act for International Artists like “Tarrus Riley”. Jah Lex perform as well in Jamaica at concerts like “Reggae in the Valley” for Fanton Mojah and “Southern Gold” for Admiral Tibet, working along with most of the popular Artists in Reggae Music. In 2006, Jah Lex organized the first edition of the annual festival called “Reggae Bash” in St-Damien, Québec. After the years, Reggae Bash welcome international artists like “Chezidek”, “Chuckle Berry” and “Michael Fabulous”.Working on his debut LP with his new band, the “Irie Members”, Jah Lex build the “Rising Sun Studio” in Montréal in 2009, where he produce many riddims from which he select those to be featured on his first Album. After the recording sessions, Jah Lex return to Jamaica where he finalize the recording of his songs in some of the best studios in Kingston Jamaica like “Tuff Gong Studio” and “Black Scorpio Studio”. Jah Lex as also did notable collaborations, one of them, "Bobo Man a Chant", with Capleton and Selaska is one of the single and video from "Shine yuh Light" CD. Jah Lex is now promoting singles and video clips, preparing for his debut CD launch in 2014, while organizing the 9th annual Reggae Bash Festival.
