Jameh (pronounced Jah-may) was born Jannett Haley Parris in Deerfield Beach, Florida to a renowned pastor and prominent First Lady. Jameh made her first solo debut at the tender age of six in the stands of her father's church choir. Since then she has graced many stages performing as lead singer for several local bands while entertaining audiences all across Florida at hot-spots like: Mango’s, Clevelanders, BB Kings, Blue Martini and more.
Jameh has been both revered and ridiculed by many for "marching to the drum of her own beat" both lyrically and personally. As an avid supporter of Marriage Equality, she knows firsthand the challenges that are faced by those deemed "different" by social standards and her music serves as a perfect poetic reflection of these often emotionally complicated life experiences.
She has managed, through the gift of voice, to combine the perfect blend of church traditions with mainstream harmonies to create a unique genre of music that is sure to touch every soul - 'Neo-Soul' mixed w/ 'Urban-Praise'.“Urban-Praise” as she defines it, is similar to Gospel but infinitely different because of it’s non-divisive influence on her listeners. Her music is meant to touch the spirit and motivate persons of all religions, races and culture; void of ANY sectism or discrimination.
We invite you into her world of melodious pleasure and discordant pain where she is sure to take you on a musical ride that you won't soon forget!
