Album Notes
You'll be listening to some of the titles in this album and saying "I think I've heard that somewhere" but it won't sound anything like the version you've heard. There are a few titles that might best described as something you might hear in the background of a movie or tv show. Specifically, "What Are Those Sounds", "James Gilbert Theme", and the "Suspense Chase" are all titles like that. There are a few quasi-classical, even avant garde pieces. "Blessed Assurance" is an orchestra like setting of the familiar hymn tune but done in a retro-70's pop style. The "Brass & Percussion" piece is as 'out there' as any of the titles go. It is for a brass quintet with a 4-player percussion ensemble. There are few other hymn tunes, "Tidings" taken from a YouTube tutorial on how to write a simple piano solo with instruments solo. "Leoni" is the hymn tune by that name but with African and middle-Eastern folk instruments. It's rare that you'll hear a hymn tune set to that type of instruments. The funniest piece, according to some children who have heard it is "Shake the Duck's Jaw" - a sort of novelty song that kids of all ages will like.
