Award-winning composer and guitarist James Lentini is a recipient of the Segovia International Composition Prize among a list of several international awards and commissions. His composition entitled The Four Seasons for classical guitar on this recording is published by Mel Bay in their Contemporary Anthology of Solo Guitar Music for Five Fingers of the Right Hand. The Four Seasons for Classical Guitar captures the mood of each season with melodic and rhythmic interpretations in a classical crossover style. In "Mother Songs," soprano Dana Lentini joins her husband James on guitar to interpret the poems of Kathleen Fraser in contemporary musical settings with movements entitled "Poem Wondering," GloomSong," and two settings from "Poems for the New." Gramophone Magazine has praised James Lentini as an "American Classical Music Success Story," and he has received similar accolades form Fanfare Magazine, American Record Guide, and Classical Guitar Magazine. In addition to his guitar music, James Lentini's works have been performed and recorded by ensembles that include the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rawlins Piano Trio, and the St. Clair Trio. His works appear on the Naxos, Capstone, Azica, and CRS recording labels.
