Album Notes
An all new collection of songs composed & performed by James Power, featuring the incomparable Gringo Motel (lead by Tom Scheponik) known for their unique mix of spaghetti western, ambient landscapes, David Lynch, and saloon slingin' circus jamborees.

These story-telling songs revolve around the usual unflinchingly grim subjects & shocking dénouements that have made James so popular with today's youth. In addition, we've included 3 cover songs carefully chosen for their particular significance to this project (sure, why not) from a bygone era: Tom Lehrer's 'The Irish Ballad' (1952), Sam Coslow's 'In The Middle Of A Kiss' (1935), and Stephen Foster's 'Beautiful Dreamer' (1862).

If you like songs about mayhem & murder, romance & revelry, heartaches & heroes - or just songs that make people ask, "What the hell are you listening to?" - this album is for you. If you're tired of the soulless, American-Idol-style of music that has replaced authentic human emotion on the airwaves - this album is for you. If you thrill more to impassioned music & the art of songwriting over a 20 year-old dry-humping a wrecking ball - this album is for you.

The goal of this record is that it be found millions of years from now, long after mankind has vanished, hopefully in some Forbidden Zone, where a Dr. Zaius-like creature will be aghast at the weird cries emanating from the odd shiny disc.
