Album Notes
Lo-Flo Records is about songwriting, musical theater composition, creation of unique special materials, scoring for movie themes. It has been created to archive and share the works of Jane McNealy. A classically trained pianist, composer and singer songwriter.

A child prodigy, Jane studied piano at age four with the famed San Francisco teacher, Lev Shore. After college, and more interested in creative pursuits, she moved to Los Angeles to work in the pop music market, where she met the writer Alice Kuhns. Alice and Jane started writing musicals together, Jane studied orchestration and arranging with UCLA professor Albert Harris and film scoring with Earl Hagen.

She was hired as a staff writer (composer/lyricist) for Mercury records, then Liberty records and Marzique Music Co. owned by Harold Battiste Jr, of Sam Cook and Sonny & Cher fame. But McNealy's interests always went back to the jazz/pop culture, and to the creation of musicals.

Under the wing of famed orchestrator and pop icon, Harold Batiste Jr., she had over 200 songs published and recorded, not counting special material & music from musicals. Jane McNealy also produced an album of her own material with the noted musicians, Henry Butler, Andy Simpkins, Hal Batiste Jr. and Roy McCurdy, to name a few.
