Album Notes
Boats is a collection of music that I have written over the last twenty-five years. The newest pieces—most of the tracks — are from 2016-2017, when I spent time sitting at a piano trying new things and naming them after words and places I had visited far from the shores of New England. I suppose the music, and not just the titles, comes from my collection of experiences. There are stylistic changes aplenty to mirror the different grooves in which I’ve lived. The song “Boats” crosses musical boundaries like an ocean that doesn't know what country it's in.
