Album Notes
Janie and Joe
“Soulful original folk-rock-blues......
......with a celtic twist”
Janie and Joe perform as a duo-Janie sings and plays keyboards, various percussion instruments and the Bodhran, an Irish goatskin drum while Joe amazes audiences with his skills on numerous acoustic and electric guitars. They are gifted songwriters able to go from a sparse achingly tender love song to an uptempo sultry blues number and then turn the corner into an Irish-flavored instrumental and top that off with a rockin’ balls-to-the-wall socially-concious tune that leaves the crowd begging for more. In a world of pre-packaged “musak” this music is refreshing, unpolished and real! They perform at major Art and Music Festivals, Brew Pubs and Coffee Houses all over the North West, in Ireland, and beyond.

“Janie Cribbs is a fantastic singer-songwriter who performs with her partner Joe Reggiatore, an excellent guitarist. Not only do the two of them fill the room nicely with haunting music, but they have a mesmerizing stage presence” Chuck Dingee, The Music Man, Northwest Events and Lifestyles

“Another work of fine art from this very gifted artist...having been blown away by her last two albums, I was delighted that she had made it three in a row with “AFTERALL’....beautiful lyrics, haunting melodies and a big, BIG rich voice to deliver them. What a package! One of my favourite singer-songwriters......of any generation”
Julian Erskine, Senior Executive Director of Riverdance, Dublin, Ireland

“Janie’s songs are very grabbing and tug on the heartsrings. Through her lyrics one can see a beautiful portrait of broken hearts mended by the strength of will and new relationships. Janie’s voice is incredible and addictive” Kim Sands, Port Townsend Brewing Company, Port Townsend, Wa.

Postcards Here & Now!
Postcards is a lush and evocative exposition on life’s echoes from the end of one century to the beginning of another, a narrative cross-section of life as it is lived on all levels, from the most intimate to the great collective. This two-CD album really works like an “album.” With overtones of Neil Young’s 2003 opus, Greendale, but reflecting the artists’ personal stories as they journey through a shifting world in transition, there’s a wonderful intimacy and relevance to this music. It evokes a sense of temporal simultaneity: while the heart yearns backwards towards the familiar, the appetite for discovery keeps our faces pressed against a window on the future, albeit with a modicum of foreboding (“This day will end for everyone …”). Janie’s nuanced, bluesy voice rides this edge brilliantly, supported brilliantly by Joe’s guitar and a band of brethren including Rick Jones (solid bass), David Malony (perfect percussion), Marvin Johnson (nice B3 organ), Randal Bays (the fiddler), and others. These two CDs and their 21 cuts flow like a river – now rushing, now twisting, now eddying, but always flowing – like time itself … always passionate, always powerful, always becoming, becoming … discovering.

Brilliantly produced and recorded by David Malony at his Blue Ewe Studios on Whidbey Island. Great work all around!

Excellent - Almost etheral in scope
This CD not only reflects the love and passion of the artists but more importantly, you feel the "essence" of their being which is transported into the music. The lyrics touched so many aspects of my own life it was uncanny; which only goes to show just how well Ms Cribbs understands the human soul. The instrumentation is excellent, the vocals terrific and when all is blended together, the combination is pure enjoyment. Loved it.
