ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
www.jankusmusic.com

Once we Disconnect from the everyday craze of the dark, fast-speed world, overloaded with information, aggression and immediate gratification,

We will find a vast, yet beautiful Emptiness inside ourselves.

We might feel alone at first, but if we stay true to the path, we will find a friendly gang, a Band of people that think alike and stand for the same beliefs,

Para estar Aquí - en el presente con nosotros,

And to make us feel like we are more than Just a little person.

As we dive deeper into ourselves, the Rhythm of our hearts will be our guide.

And, should we have enough Strength to endure the challenges,

Many Neophytes shall follow, and together, with all of our spirits combined, we will make a difference.

As long as we keep the Faith.

Have a listen at Jan Kus Quartet's debut album.

An exciting new musical formation by the Slovenian-born, New York-based saxophonist, arranger and composer, features some of the most promising young musicians on the scene today. This band of fresh and yet already very experienced individuals performs the captivating music of its leader with a characteristic rhythmical and cross-cultural quality.
Using the language of jazz to merge the influences from their various native cultures and living environments (the rhythmical complexities of the Balkans, the dancing joy of the South American musical traditions, the vast open plains of South East Europe, and the backbeats of the streets of New York), this dedicated group of musicians strives to create its own unique musical landscape, taking the listener on a trip – physically, mentally, and spiritually.
