ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jasmine Jamillah writes songs that give most chills. But a look back at her early work reveals an oeuvre of songs that gave her chills, and that gripped feelings of longing, disillusion, exasperation and the need for hope. Overdue is Jasmine Jamillah’s debut album and includes ten songs written between 2001 and 2004, and self-recorded in 2005 and 2006 at a couple of New York City apartments. Each song is carved from only guitar and vocal work, and yet each exposes an intimate side to this private soul folk/rock musician.
