Album Notes
War and peace are major themes in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. The enmity has always been between “you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed”; (Genesis 3:15); i.e, between Satan (and his offspring – all who follow him) and the woman (and her offspring, ultimately Jesus Christ – and all who follow Him). This spiritual battle will finally be won by Christ, the Prince of Peace. Until then, we as Christians will go through times of peace and war; not necessarily physically, but certainly spiritually.

We will cry with the Psalmist, “out of the depths” but we will also know that, “with him is full redemption.” Ps. 130.

We will see the “wicked schemes” of men who “draw the sword and bend the bow...to slay those who are upright…” but we will also “dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture” Ps. 37

Slanderers will “twist our words…conspire, lurk and seek to take our life” but we will be “delivered from death… and walk in the light of life” Ps. 56

Because of our own sin warring in us, we will ask of God, “will you be angry with us forever?” and will know that “he promises peace to His people, his saints” Ps.85

We will know the tension and woe of living “among those who hate peace” Ps. 120.

In the end, we will know the blessings of Psalm 128, summed up in its closing words: “Peace be upon Israel”
