ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Splanky" is a 2018 release by saxophonist Jason Fabus and his Trio. The group consists of Fabus on alto saxophone, Shane Savala on guitar, and Nick Ornelas on upright bass. Vocalist Natalie Hanna Mendoza also joins the trio on a few numbers. This group has been performing all across Los Angeles now for over 3 years. They strive to achieve a tight and rhythm-heavy sound, much like the classic trio stylings of Nat King Cole and Oscar Peterson. This album features thoughtful arrangements of classic melodies, performed for the true enjoyment of the common listener, jazz musician, swing dancer, and etc.
