Album Notes
Jay Edmonds, a.k.a. “L.A.-J” has dropped this third full-length Studio Album, “Diversity” which has been long awaited by many of his fans. The album’s concept is based on diverse stylings beginning with the opening track, “Unconditional Love”; which has a smooth jazz neo hip-hop beat perfect for cruising, or relaxing and meditating. The next track, “Power Come Down”, is a smooth, yet rhythmic composition that is cleverly arranged, and guaranteed to provide movement from the listener. The third track, “It’s Time”, is a socially conscious composition that addresses long standing societal issues, and is extremely thought provoking. The music, arranged in a minor key, is somewhat haunting, but simultaneously energetic. The fourth track is a very rhythmic, and driving composition entitled: “That’s How I Roll”. Guaranteed to have you moving..The fifth track, “A Love Story”, is an extremely powerful and moving narration set to music that will place you at each scene. Tracks 6 and 7 “Why” and “Wake Up Everybody” will indeed resonate memorably in the mind of the listener. The eighth track, “Highest Praise”, is an high energetic Latin Arrangement with a very diverse vocal styling and background vocals that completely makes the song rock! Track nine is a wonderful heart-felt “Sing-along”, that provokes love, gratitude, and deep reflection. The tenth track is a diverse musical track which features the song styling of talented female vocalist, Tahirah Edmonds, and episodic sprinklings of thought provoking rap lyrics. The Album concludes with tracks eleven and twelve, which are as vocally diverse as day and night; but inextricably woven seamlessly into the musical fabric of the entire project. “Diversity” is definitely a must have for the “substance” driven listener, and music collector.
