Moody, immaculately-produced songs from an emotive emerging singer-songwriter influenced by the likes of rock, jazz and folk music greats. Complex layerings & textured sounds reveal new elements upon repeat listens. Highly Recommended.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"TREAT LOVE KIND" is the 2011 follow-up to Matsueda's acclaimed 2009 debut entitled "EAT YOUR SAD." In Matsueda's typical form, the expressive vocals and intelligent lyrics soar above multi-textured instrumental backdrops with the help of dozens of varied rock and jazz performers that include everything from clarinet to orchestra bells to steel drum, trumpet, more traditional guitar, bass, drums, and more. The result is a kind of uniquely jazzy indy rock style that transcends a pigeoned-holed description.

Billy Dee Williams, an Honorary Co-Chairman of the Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz, says this about the album:
"Matsueda makes an effective personal statement with his album TREAT LOVE KIND. The interesting instrumentation and melodies make it unique and worthy."
