Album Notes
Several years ago, I embarked on a jazz adventure, traveling the country to check out my favorite acts. From the Bistro in St. Louis to see the first of many Robert Glasper shows, Milton Suggs at Andys in Chicago then up to The Jazz Gallery NYC (former location on Hudson) for Gretchen Parlato. I've some some of the best. However, I know there are still so many more artists waiting to share their story through song and so many fans anxious to hear them.
Growing up, my dad felt compelled to constantly share his love for jazz with me and my siblings, rummaging through his vinyl collection almost every weekend. He reminded us how records like, Coltrane's "Love Supreme," Monk's "Round Midnight" and others had such a profound impact on his life. Fueled by my parent's appreciation and love for jazz, it is now my turn to share this wonderful culture with others, as they so passionately did with us. So let's celebrate the sacrifices and foundation the jazz greats left while embracing the future.....
