ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
JAZZ’N THE BOX â€" Featuring vocals by BILL JOUBERT

Bill Joubert has appeared in and around New York City and throughout New England at numerous clubs and concert venues dedicated to the performance of great tried and true standards. “And Now It’s Gone” marks his first album. His title song, an original, is a tender ballad remembering love lost, the album’s theme.
But don’t be fooled, the album is laced with swinging up-beat versions of all time favorites. A non-traditional up tempo arrangement of “There Will Never Be Another You” kicks things off. There is a cooking version of “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore”, a more traditional arrangement of “Stardust” with a surprise swinging sax solo in the middle and a bluesy treatment of “Angel Eyes” with some soulful trumpet work. The album wraps up with a couple of classy “bossa nova arrangements featuring lovely guitar solos.

“Jazz’n The Box is a perfect marriage of croon and jazz. Bill Joubert’s voice has a straightforward romantic quality somewhere between Frank Sinatra and Steve Lawrence. The musicians are “right on” with quality solo performances. The Great American Song Book is alive and well.” â€" South Shore Cabaret Review

“Jazz’n The Box is just what the name implies. The Instrumental solos may push the edges a little, but I guarantee you will be able to recognize the melodies and understand every lyric. All twelve cuts are a delight.” â€" Long Island Jazz Review
