Album Notes
J Beam's premier release "From Life 2 Life" is an eclectic, grooving, collage of sound. Made up of 13 instrumentals, it's a very listenable album boasting elements of jazz, rock, funk, R&B, classical, world etc. J Beam is a keyboardist, and his release features piano, various electric piano, and plenty of synth solos and pads, but he incorporates, if not more, guitars, brass and various percussion. There are also nice vocal touches, particularly the female Maasai choir at the close of the smooth "Still Here." Overall, the music is aggressive, but laid back all at once. Energizing and yet soothing. Each track firmly makes its own statement, or two. "Get It Together, " with guest David Harper's 'jazzy-gospel' piano riffs, seems to strongly encourage "self-improvement" but also getting one's groove straight on the dance floor! From the lead off track "For Real", with it's apparent nod to Cheryl Lynn's classic, "Got To Be Real," to the closing 70's rock, feel good music of "Welcome Home," "From Life 2 Life" is a breath of fresh air indie music lovers don't want to miss.

Oh, This Is Really Bad!
As we used to say in the 70's, "Man, that's bad!" which meant "Really Good" or "Awesome!" This album is "Bad!" A mixed bag of instrumental music that will take you to other worlds, all the while making you feel really good. Jazzy with a touch of Old School R&B and funk sprinkled with some modern soul and even classic rock. Every track sizzles!

Listened to this album while driving to work and back .Great jazzy sound mixed with old school and new school.
The track "For Real" definitely got me ready for the day ahead. Love the last track, "Welcome Home!" Nice! Check out J Beam!
