Album Notes
One of the founding members and principal songwriters of the Free Hot Lunch band, John Corning is responsible for such underground hits as "I Hate To Wake Up Sober In Nebraska", "Sex By Mail", and "Penguin Love".

Banished to southwest Florida after a series of mishaps involving tequila, limes, and underage cocktail waitresses, John recorded this new album under cover of darkness in an undisclosed location.

Just like real life, "I Forgot What I Was Drinking To Forget" is about drinking and sex. Usually in that order. Featuring ten songs written by John Corning, plus "Body Language" by Milwaukee songsmith James Price, Jr., this album speaks to that special place deep in your soul, known only to you and your bartender.

Prairie Home Companion regular Randy Sabien adds his fiddle to the title cut and "The Man Who Stole My Baby Away From Me". Free Hot Lunch mates Jeff Berg and Jeff Laramie contribute vocals to "Lingerie", "Eating For Two Now", and "Wouldn't You Like To Be An Alcoholic?". Minneapolis-based Kathy Mueller (of Women Who Cook) sings on "Mental Vacation".

So get relaxed. Very relaxed. And enjoy.

LEGAL DISCLAIMER: Yo Yo Ma had nothing to do with the making of this album. But we think he'd like the song about him.
