ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"METHOD 2 MADNESS" Talk about a RE-EVOLUTION! Newly recorded for the 21st century! James first solo CD, originally released in 1992 has been completely re-recorded, mixed, and mastered in state of the art digital! This CD also features a killer new bonus track and the production is amazing. Hearing these incredible melodies with powerful new arrangements is like listening to the original "92" release on steroids!

These days, it's STILL considered "UNCOOL" to be able to play and tune your instrument... Midwest Independent Records is proud to present the most "UNCOOL" guitarist in the Midwest. For well over a decade James has made a career of both impressing and entertaining, not to mention scaring the hell out of other guitartist! His solo CDs serve as proof of James' monster shred ability.

Review Samples:

"I think James' playing as well as compositional skills are excellent. He has a gift of mixing over the top shred guitar, with really creative melodies, as well as arpeggiated lines. The CD rocks! Great playing. James is a true guitar great!" - Michael Angelo Batio

"Metal masterpiece of enormous value. Fretboard racing to the extreme, nimble-fingered movements which leads to something oustanding. I'll recommend "Method 2 Madness" definitely to all Metal heads with an eye for very technical, instrumental axe movements of world class quality. Pure and from the heart brilliant release, a masterpice!" - Stefan Sileghem / METAL TO INFINITY (Belgium)

" Although Gilmore's music includes a virtuosic nobleness, and each note is polished up, he managed to preserve the sharpness that is typical for metal. The greatest trump of "M2M" is characteristic Gilmore's guitar sound, so we will not confuse him with other guitarists. Just right for David T. Chastain's fans." - Mikolaj Furmankiewicz / HMP Magazine : Department of Virtuosity (Warsaw)

"James Gilmore's fiery guitar playing is magnificent. He's been titled the sweep king by many. This is a great investment for guitar lover's." - Stage Pass Magazine

James D. Gilmore - Method 2 Madness
Solo discoraphy of aforementioned American includes three releases: two instrumental ones (as above and "Return II Madness") and a vocal-instrumental one "Resurrection". After 14 years since the time of debut's recording, we get its re-release enriched by one bonus track - "De'ja' Vu". Actually I should write that the CD was recorded from the start, because old tracks had received new arrangements. Music on "M2M" is not as diverse as on "RIIM", where Gilmore blended blues, funky, jazz and classical music. First and foremost it is a guitar album including instrumental metal music. A guitarist plays distinct melodic motifs that are easy to remember. There are some fragments while we feel bleak atmosphere, being carefully created by both Gilmore and keyboard player, John Harper. Although Gilmore's music includes a virtuosic nobleness, and each note is polished up, he managed to preserve the sharpness that is typical of metal. The greatest trump of "M2M" is characteristic Gilmore's guitar sound, so we will not confuse him with other guitarists. He is often called a "sweep king" in guitar society, but I assure all you that his music is not based on a mathematical calculations, but rather on "subdued" shredding metal, being a direct reference to its classic exemplars from the eighties. Just right for David T. Chastain's fans.
